NATIVELY on my PC (emulation made that possible but that was a long time afterwards). But,my idea of the PC's game scene until that time was very vague.until then I lived on Amiga dreams of arcade-perfect smoothscrolling and colourful platformers as I saw in magazines and I thought it would be (almost) the same thing and quality with a powerful PC (mine).the hardware potential existed, yeah, but came a bit too late, and the software's status was not up to the same "standard".I wasn't able to find Newzealand Story for the PC,like many other games: imagine,I thought I could be playing Rainbow Islands, King of Dragons etc. and it was the best computer in my town (have you got an idea of how much a 486 costed in Greece,at that time?) What fun, watching the other guys torturing themselves with their old,el cheapo XT's and AT's.And,it was only very recently that I lost that title (of having the best computer in town)!Pentium prices went way down (way down for everyone else except for poor old me :-) and even the last dork got a better computer than me (but that doesn't change the fact that he is a dork, and I'm a POWER USER!!!) My first thought when I got the 486 was "OK,now let's find all the good classic games I love so much, for my new baby.". Another popular machine was the Amstrad PC1512,coz at a certain point Amstrad "retired" old CPCs in exchange with a brand new PC1512.wow! When I was 14 (in 1994) my daddy got me a 486 DX/40 with VLB,330 MB HD,SVGA etc. that was mostly because most computer people in my town had got CPC 6128s with green monitors (and in fact, only Amstrad had got representants in Xanthi,so she outselled both Commodore and Sinclair, even when the Atari ST and the Amiga era came.stuck to CPCs!).

Strangely,I had almost no contact with real C64s and Spectrums,I followed them closely on the (then great) Pixel magazine, and had a good idea about them.

and I learned how to program fairly well, and use a variety of different kinds of computers. I never really had a computer of my own until I was 14,and I used to us(ur)e other people's computers: My cousin's CPC 464,my friends' CPC 6128s, my neighbour's XT,my other cousin's AMIGA 500,etc. When I was a little boy,I used to play very much those cute games only TAITO knows how to make, like Rainbow Islands,Bubble Bobble (a lot!),New Zealand Story. I live in Greece where I was born,in the small (60000 people) town of Xanthi.I love very much videogames, and especially good ones. I am Victor Epitropou, experienced video gamer and programmer.
